What About the veterans Part (2)

Posted on September 5, 2021, by Michael Cavalier – Managing Editor

Okay, so here we are with part 2 Of What About The Veterans? Let’s do a little re-cap on the first chapter. I was asking, where would we be today if it were not for our veterans (Warriors)? Let’s go back as far as WW1(World War 1). We Finally declared war on Germany on 6 April 1917. Before then, the United States had remained neutral in the war. After we faced Germany targeting our exports, and they’re trying to encircle Mexico to attack the US, we declared war on Germany. Two million of our military went to war against Germany. Though we didn’t enter the war until the tail end of it, we still had a presence there. Yes sir, the war to end all wars as claimed. We all know the outcome of that.

Now let’s get into the next part of the chapter. Where would we be today if not for our Veterans? WWII (World War 2) was the closest any country has come to Conquering the United States. Most high school graduates can’t even tell you when this war actually started. This should be one qualification for graduating. Just in case one or two are reading this article, let’s give a brief history lesson. World war two started for the United States on the morning of December 7, 1941, Japan attacked the United States. The United States was caught off guard, something that will never happen again. The call to duty went out.

With the call to duty and the young men willing to sign up and go after Japan for the cowardly attack on the United States, we, as a nation, would not roll over. We even had young men lying to go to the fight. Some were successful in entering service, while others were not. That’s what makes America so dangerous. Even though there is fighting going on with the people at the moment, we would come together as one if ever attacked again. That was a devastating war.

These are some interesting facts about the war with Japan. Let me emphasize, we are allies with Japan now, as in, we are now friends, not enemies. They more than paid for their attack on us. We did what we had to do, unlike today. Our leaders are more worried about politics. Below is an interesting read.

During the war, some 16,112,566 Americans served in the United States Armed Forces, with 405,399 killed and 671,278 wounded.[2] There were also 130,201 American prisoners of war, of whom 116,129 returned home after the war.[3] Key civilian advisors to President Roosevelt included Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson, who mobilized the nation’s industries and induction centers to supply the Army, commanded by General George Marshall and the Army Air Force under General Hap Arnold.

The Navy, led by Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox and Admiral Ernest King, proved more autonomous. Overall priorities were set by Roosevelt and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, chaired by William Leahy. The highest priority was the defeat of Germany in Europe, but first, the war against Japan in the Pacific was more urgent after the sinking of the main battleship fleet at Pearl Harbor. Read More.

I’m going to keep asking the same question until I see something getting done. What About The Veterans? We didn’t become the most powerful nation on the planet earth by being nice. It took courage to do what our Veterans did and still do. If it were not for our great leaders and the courage of our Veterans, we would not be who we are today. Our Veterans should always come first before any politician. Why not send the politician to fight our battles? We wouldn’t be speaking English, they would probably strike a deal that protects them but damns the rest of us. I have no problem saying this, it’s what I see. They want to fight about three trillion-plus dollars for infrastructure. What they should be doing is taking that amount of taxpayers’ dollars and give our Veterans raises and build them some homes.

Now, thinking like one of them, I would have to be thinking, now where is the benefit in that for me (Politician thinking)? They have no shame. Politicians never answer any question you ask them, but they will lie. That’s not surprising, is it? I will post Part 3 in a couple of days. I hope you join me in standing up for our Veterans. God bless America, God save the Veterans.

God Bless America, God Bless The Veterans
