Republicans need to get out and vote in the mid-terms of 2022 and take back the power from the Democrats.

Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez about to drive a wedge between Democrats?

Posted 12/04/21, by Michael Cavalier – Editor

Now that Former Vice President Joe Biden has changed titles from vice President to President of the United States. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders are looking to distance themselves from the former vice president and take control of the party. Is this move by Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders an effective way to gain more supporters or will it cause the split that President Trump wants? And what does this mean for President Biden?

Alexandria is 29 years old, born in New York City. She is one of America’s youngest politicians. Her family wasn’t wealthy and she had to work jobs such as waitressing and bartending while studying at Boston University. It was there that she became interested in politics and when her family lost their home in 2008, her political views became even more strongly left-wing.

She worked on Bernie Sanders’ campaign during the 2016 election cycle and when Hillary Clinton won out, she set her sights on winning a seat in Congress. In the 2018 elections, she defeated 10-term incumbent Joseph Crowley for the 14th congressional district seat with 57% of the vote share. It was the most significant primary upset victory since David Brat unseated Eric Cantor by 44 points back in the 2014 midterm elections.

Many see it as something that will galvanize other progressives across the country to step up and take on establishment figures within Democratic Party. The question now being asked among members of the Democratic Party is whether progressive socialists like Ocasio-Cortez will try to bring down Joe Biden or he has enough good name recognition from his days as Vice President under Barack Obama.

Most of Joe Biden’s policies have caused fear and outrage within his own party. His views on abortion, tax reform, climate change, and more have been called for by several members of congress that are part of his party. His proposals put him at odds with both Republicans and even some key members of his own party. Now that he is President, he is facing an uphill battle in congress just trying to accomplish what he wants.

Most Americans have come out against many of Joe Biden’s ideas because they are seen as extreme and unfair towards everyday Americans rather than helping them achieve their dream lives. Because of these facts, it may cause divisiveness in Congress which will make it harder for President Biden to get anything accomplished which could force a nonstop gridlock from Congress. The other possibility is AOC becoming Speaker of House and blocking everything President Biden proposes while still calling herself Progressive. This idea shows how far she will go to cause division among her own party.

President Biden is failing at accomplishing what he promised. President Biden promised things that would benefit his political party, but not for most of the public. President Biden does not act like someone that is ready for the presidency. He has been criticized for his knowledge of criminal justice reform, health care, and other topics. There are times when he tends to have a major mistake in words or actions which makes him look bad, but also makes him easily forgives due to his previous background of being a nice person in politics and because most people just think it’s temporary mistakes and don’t want to judge him badly due to that reason.

After all these disadvantages he has done as president and lack of support from Democratic voters that are backed up with his failure to get votes made me say: Is anyone still supporting Joe Biden now? Not only is President Biden failing, but he is slowly but surely losing the support of his Democratic House and Senate. These Mid-Term elections coming up should resemble how he is doing. Let’s get out as many Republicans as we can for the Mid-Term Elections…
