Ukranians Begin the Fight For Their Right to Exist as Free People

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Russia had begun fighting in the Donbas after reorganizing ahead of a planned offensive in the eastern part of the country. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Russia had launched a long-feared large-scale offensive to gain control of the east and west of the country.

Ukrainian officials said that Russia launched a terrifying all-out offensive to gain control of eastern Ukraine on Monday, hitting a broad front stretching more than 480 kilometers, marking the beginning of a new potential high point in the war.

In a video message on Monday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Vladimir Putin’s troops had “long been preparing” for an attack on the Donbas after failing to take Kyiv.
