Transgender Treatment, Doctors Threatened by New Alabama Law

The Alabama law, which goes into effect May 8, unless blocked by a court, would make it a felony for a doctor to prescribe puberty blockers or hormones to aid in sex reassignment for people under 19. Under a new law in Alabama, doctors who write prescriptions or provide medical care to people under the age of 18 for a sex change can be held criminally liable.

Effective May 8, unless a federal judge intervenes, under the new law, health care workers in Alabama can face criminal charges if they continue to prescribe or use hormonal drugs or puberty blockers to minors. The governor of Alabama signed new rules under which doctors face jail time if they continue to prescribe hormone treatments and puberty-blocking drugs to doctors of transgender young people.

This is becoming really ridiculous. If you’re born a male then you’re a male not female, or female not a male. We have become a nation that just says okay. We have men marrying men and women marrying women. Now, they have started telling kids it’s okay for you to be a female or male whichever the case may be. I for one believe a man should only be able to marry a woman, or a woman marrying a man only.

A new state law that took effect Sunday makes it a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, for doctors to prescribe puberty blockers and hormones to trans people under age 19. A judge has not yet ruled on a request to block the state from enforcing the law.

The measure is part of a wave of legislation in Republican-controlled states focused on LGBTQ youth. Bills have been introduced to limit discussion of gender and sexual identity issues in younger grades or to prohibit kids from using school restrooms or playing on sports teams that don’t align with their sex at birth.

Abdul-Latif, a pediatric endocrinologist and co-founder of a clinic in Birmingham to treat children with gender dysphoria, said he is very discouraged by the Alabama law. He said it was already hard enough for families in this very conservative state to come to terms with their children’s situations. They had already faced the social stigma and “the difficult decision of leaving their church family or being viewed less worthy,” he said.    “msn.com

Alabama is the second state after Arkansas to enact a total ban on advanced healthcare practices for transgender youth last year. Alabama is one of 20 states that have introduced bills to ban gender-affirming health care for trans youth. The two doctors, along with the families of two transgender teenagers and two transgender teenagers, filed a lawsuit against Alabama on Monday to strike down a law banning gender-based care for transgender youth.   “axios.com

This will be something for the Democrats to hang onto for votes. They care nothing about the people they represent, only the votes matter. I have even heard some Democrats saying we need to get God back in the US. Yet they back and keep pushing things that don’t make sense. God has already spoken about this. He said it is an abomination. I agree we do need to put God first again.

God Bless the United States, God Bless the Veterans
